da cassino online: Liam Cooper has received his very first international call-up, being rewarded with a place in Steve Clarke’s Scotland squad for clashes with Belgium and Russia.
Cooper, who is Hull-born, has played for Scotland at youth level but is yet to be capped for their senior team.
The two matches will take place next month during the international break.
The 27-year-old’s place in the squad is perhaps overdue, especially considering he was named in the PFA Team of the Year last term.
And it appears as though some fans echo those sentiments, reacting to the news on Twitter. One said it was about time he was included as a further individual said he should have been called up last season.
However, there were also concerns about his international recognition. Another supporter said they prefer it if he didn’t play as it would reduce the chance of injury. One fan said Cooper didn’t need the distraction.
The defender has recently been out with injury and missed the Whites’ match with Stoke last weekend.
So far in 2019/20, Cooper has won five aerial duels per game, making 4.8 clearances every outing too.
Here’s the best of the discussion.
