da lvbet: Tottenham have one of the most exciting squads in the Premier League going into next season.
da pinup bet: The young team from White Hart Lane played some of the best football in the country as they challenged for the title last season whilst the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Eric Dier all shone for the duration of the season.
Meanwhile, manager Mauricio Pochettino presided over his young charges highlighting his tactical ability showcasing how well he has built his side. The Argentine boss clearly feels the future success of the club is built on young players and this indicates that he’ll already be looking through the Spurs youth academy searching for the next Harry Kane.
Spurs have a good record of promoting players from within too, which should work in Pochettino’s favour -so here are five youngsters who could well be on his radar…
Josh Onomah
Onomah was part of the reason Andros Townsend saw his Spurs career come to an end.
He’s already started in Spurs games against Monaco in the Europa League and against Leicester in the FA Cup so it’s only a matter of time before he features even more regularly.
Onomah started his career as a number ten but under Pochettino has evolved into a wide player and that’s where he could end up.
Alex Pritchard
Pritchard spent last season on loan at West Brom but saw chances limited due to injury troubles.
The 22-year-old attacking midfielder damaged the ligaments in his ankle playing for England’s U21s last Summer and this flared up again whilst at the Baggies.
He’s still rated by Pochettino though and if he can shake any fitness doubts he could feature finally for Spurs.
Marcus Edwards
Edwards looks to have goals in him as Spurs look for the next Harry Kane.
He has also been prolific in the national set up starting his under 18 career with four goals in three appearances which is good at any level.
He has a fair bit of pace around him and if Spurs do not bring in back up for Kane this Summer Edwards could be finding himself involved in the first team very soon.
Shayon Harrison
Another player that scores goals Harrison seems to save them for his team’s biggest rivals. He’s scored against the Arsenal youth side as well as four in one game against Chelsea showing he clearly revels a battle.
He’s a left footed forward who has caught the attention of many at the club and like Edwards, if Kane does not get back up from outside he could be in with a chance.
Harry Winks
Winks has seen first team chances limited due to the sheer amount of players that can play in his position already at the club. A defensive midfielder, Winks has to compete with Eric Dier, Mousa Dembele, Ryan Mason, Tom Carroll and Nabil Bentaleb to catch Pochettino’s eye.
He’ll have to go some to get ahead of Dembele and Dier at the moment but if he does impress and his talent suggests he can, it’ll show just the kind of player he is.
