da betcris: Everton make the trip to the capital to take on Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday lunchtime with both sides desperate to get back to winning ways after defeats the previous week.
da 888casino: The Cottagers were soundly beaten by Stoke at the Britannia last week with the result coming after they had smashed six goals past QPR before the international break. Martin Jol’s side have played a staggering 21 games already this season and it’s been a struggle for the side to replicate their Europa League form on a domestic level. Despite a run of one win in eight games the alarm bells have yet to start ringing and the full effect of a european campaign that started in June won’t be felt until the new year. One positive aspect of Jol’s reign so far is the return to form of Andy Johnson. The striker struck a hat trick in their only win of the season against QPR and looks like he is enjoying his football again after several injury hit seasons. He will be up against his former employers this weekend and will be desperate to continue the Cottagers good form against Everton which has seen them win eight out of the last 10 meetings. Partnering Johnson up front will be Bobby Zamora who has scored three goals in as many home league games and if he finds the back of the net will become the first Fulham player to score four in a row.
David Moyes’ side go into the game knowing his side have won just once by the Thames with that coming on the final day of the season in 2009. The Toffee’s have had an indifferent start to the season and may as well have stayed on Merseyside after being outclassed away at Chelsea last week. The loss of Mikel Arteta to Arsenal has been a massive blow especially with Tim Cahill and Louis Saha failing to score this season. Their form away from Goodison Park is extremely poor having lost the last three on the road and omens continue to go against Everton with this fixture seeing the visiting side win just once in 20 Premier League fixtures. Moyes could be tempted to shake things up and give Apostolos Velios a start up front after he scored with his first touch after coming on at Stamford Bridge last week. He is the only player to score more than one goal for the Toffee’s this season and his height could be used to counteract that of Brede Hangeland’s in the Fulham defence.
Key Players
Andy Johnson – Nine goals in 15 games in all competitions mean Johnson is on track to reach double figures for the first time since 2009. The striker has been in superb form this season with his speed and willingness to run into the channels giving Fulham an extra dimension up front.
Phil Jagielka – As ever the Everton skipper will be key to their chances of taking anything away from Craven Cottage. Jagielka will need to be on top of his game to quell the threat of Johnson and Zamora who will be desperate to score the goals to lead Fulham to victory.
Fulham lost 2-0 to late goals at Stoke, and covered just 98km in that game compared to 110km covered by Stoke Danny Murphy remains Fulham’s top ranked player in the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index in 18th place Phil Jagielka is Everton’s top ranked player in the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index Jack Rodwell bounced back from his sending off against Liverpool by covering more ground than any other Everton player in the game versus Chelsea, clocking up 12.718km during the game
