Many Aston Villa fans have reacted to a latest report linking winger Trezeguet with an exit from the club this summer.
Reports last month of an exit for the Egyptian winger emerged with Turkish newspaper Takvim (via Sport Witness) claiming that Galatasaray’s rivals Fenerbahce were keen to bring him to the club.
The Super Lig side were reported to have put together a loan package for the 25-year-old which would include a option-to-buy, but that now looks set to be countered by Gala who have a deal ready to sign the player should Villa be relegated to the Championship (Sabah via Sport Witness).
Trezeguet arrived at Villa Park last summer after spending time in Turkey with Kasimpasa, but his time in Dean Smith’s side has been limited, starting just 43% of the Midlands club’s games this term.
With Villa’s Premier League status in doubt, sitting in the bottom three places, changes could be made this coming summer and the winger’s future is now growing uncertain.
Following the latest report on his future which was shared by Twitter account @villareport, fans of the Claret and Blue reacted with the majority keen for him to leave the club, perhaps understandably so given he hasn’t been a regular in the team anyway.
Below are just a few of the comments gained, with one labelling the Egyptian as an “awful signing”:
