Even upon returning to the first team after being stripped of the Arsenal captaincy, fans haven’t been impressed with his performances and were quick to bash him whenever they had the chance.
But all of that has seemingly changed for the better now.
The Gooners were more than just satisfied with his display against Manchester United and were quick to voice their opinions on social media and Twitter.
Interestingly enough, some of them seem to think Mikel Arteta is responsible for his return to form and are now convinced that Unai Emery and even Arsene Wenger, their former managers, are to blame for his recent struggles.
They pointed out that Xhaka is playing better just because he is no longer working under them.
And looking at the numbers, it’s hard to disagree – the midfielder deployed 6/7 long balls, maintained a 92.7% passing accuracy and made three tackles and two interceptions against United.
One fan even pointed out that he is vital for them under the new coach but it still remains to be seen what the future holds for the 27-year-old star.
He was recently linked with an exit to the Bundesliga and back then, the fans were absolutely thrilled by that prospect.

But now, there seem to be some who believe Xhaka should definitely stay at the Emirates…
In other news, Arsenal allowing one of their big stars to finally leave the club could have its benefits as well…
