The Senegalese international was making his 18th Premier League start of the season since his summer move from West Ham, and has quickly become a fans’ favourite at Selhurst Park as a result of his tireless performances in the middle of the field.
The 29-year-old grabbed an assist against the Clarets, as well as making five clearances and two key passes to help the Eagles onto 33 points for the season, easing any lingering worries over relegation.
Palace have now nabbed two of their key players from the Hammers having signed James Tomkins from the Irons back in 2016, which will certainly annoy the east London-based side’s fans.
