Aston Villa have now closed their training ground, as has been reported by The Athletic journalist Gregg Evans on Twitter. It has been confirmed that the Premier League will be suspended until 4th April, which had previously left their training to be untouched. However, the decision has now been taken for Dean Smith’s side to train at home, with Bodymoor Heath’s doors having been shut for the time being.

Questions are currently being asked of Smith, so he will have been keen to continue working with his squad, but their health is paramount, which will have guided this decision.
With the club currently occupying a place in the relegation zone, two points away from safety, he will be relying on the players to ensure they are fit enough to kick on when play eventually resumes. It is suggested that there will be a review that takes place next week.
